Describe Yourself:
I was a news writer for a major wire service here in the United States and for another one living abroad. I spent many years in Europe, writing and raising a family. I've been writing since I was a child. Unfortunately, I listened to those well wishers who told me that novelists "never" make a living, so I chose to do something else that made me very unhappy.
I'm quite happy now, writing and publishing. My novels tend to be about Harlem in the 1920s, a fascinating period. I'm blunt and caring and an excellent editor.
I run an editorial service, Gentle Pen Editorials, at www.gentlepen.com, with a friend. I also have a blog called Criminal Musings, to be found on my website, and contribute to Crime Sistahs (www.crimesistahs.blogspot.com).
